Alleged HONOR 8 Lite images leak ahead of MWC 2017

August 18, 2025

With less than a month to go before the 2017Mobile World Congresstrade show begins, we can expect the rumors and leaks to pick up speed on the internet from now on. The latest such report claims to have images showing what the unannounced HONOR 8 Lite fromHuaweiwill look like.

The report comes from noted gadget leaker Roland Quandt ofWinFuture.de. These images show the phone placed inside both clear and plastic cases, so we are not getting quite the pure look at the phone that we would normally get. He added in Twitter posts that the HONOR 8 Lite could launch in early March, after a possible reveal at MWC 2017. The phone is also supposed to come in Blue, Black, Gold, and White colors.

The images indicate that the phone will have a microUSB port on the bottom, rather than the USB Type-C port that we have been seeing on many recently launched Android phones. They also hint strongly that it will have a single rear camera, rather than the dual camera set up that’s available on theHONOR 8, and maybe a rear fingerprint reader as well. The price for the HONOR 8 Lite is expected to be €280, or about $300. The article didn’t have any other major info on this phone’s hardware specs.

HUAWEI has already confirmed its plans to hold a press conference in Barcelonaon February 26, the day before MWC 2017 officially begins. The announcement added that it will feature “the global unveiling of a new flagship device” at that event, but we would expect that the HONOR 8 Lite is not what HUAWEI was referring to. It’s possible that “flagship device” could in fact be a successor to the highly successfulHUAWEI P9smartphone. The company could reveal a new Android tablet, the MediaPad T3, at its MWC 2017 press event as well. Stay tuned as we will be there at that event to give you the info on what HUAWEI will announce at the show, along with all the other big reveals from MWC 2017.
