August 06, 2025

TheRedmiseries is usually the company’s cheapest device family, coming in at roughly $100 to $120. And it looks like theXiaomisub-brand is working on yet another iteration, judging by thisTENAA filing.

The filing on China’s telecoms authority website shows a phone with low-end specifications for the most part. So that means a 6.26-inch 720p display with what appears to be a waterdrop notch, an octa-core 1.8Ghz chipset, 2GB to 4GB RAM, and 16GB to 64GB of expandable storage.

A Xiaomi Redmi phone seen on TENAA, rumored to be the Redmi 7.

Other noteworthy listed specs include a 3,900mAh battery, a dual rear camera setup with a 12MP shooter, an 8MP selfie camera, a rear fingerprint scanner, aheadphone port, and anIR blaster.

We’re most likely looking at theRedmi 7, although it would make for a pretty quick turnaround time. The Redmi 6 series firstlaunched in Chinaback in June 2018, beforecoming to Indiain September 2018.

But the large screen size also suggests a new entry in the Redmi Note series. The company previously launched theRedmi Note 5Ain 2017, offering a sizeable screen but entry-level specs. This seems less likely though, as Xiaomi skipped the Note 6A last year.

Either way, Redmi phones usually have an attractive price, so we eagerly await more information about this device. And with the 48MPRedmi Note 7/Procoming in at under $200, it looks like the brand is off to a great start in 2019.
