Google I/O 2017 app updated with a new seat reservation feature and more

July 18, 2025

Next week, the 2017 edition of theGoogle I/O developers conferencegets underway. If you are attending the event at the  Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California from May 17-19, you’re able to check out the newly updated Google I/O app on Android to get information on the conference, as well as some new features.

The biggest new feature in the Google I/O 2017 app update is the ability for attendees to reserve seats for any of the conference’s sessions ahead of time. This should help cut down the lines at some of the more popular sessions along with making sure you may attend any of the smaller ones that might fill up fast.

New in this 2017 version of the app is the addition of a bottom navigation bar, which has been growing in popularity over the past year or so. The bar also features plenty of neat animations, in case you were wondering.

Attendees, and anyone else for that matter, can also check out information on most of the Google I/O 2017 schedule of events (a few of them are still secret as they will be revealed after the big keynote address on May 17). Attendees can also get reminders when any events they want to attend will be starting, and there’s even a map of the location in case you get lost. you may sync your own personal schedule with all of your devices and the Google I/O site. Finally, if you are not attending, you can still watch the keynote and sessions from the conference directly from the app via live streaming video.
