Google Pixel 4a launch apparently delayed, again

July 27, 2025

Google did not get to hold its annualI/O developer conferencethis year. The event usually takes place in May and sees Google launch new features, OS updates, andeven new hardware. But all that has been put on the back-burner because of thecoronaviruspandemic, including, it seems, the Pixel 4a launch.

We were previously expecting the Pixel 4a to launch some time this month, keeping with last year’s launch of thePixel 3a. However, arecent tipsuggested that its launch would be moved to June to coincide with Google’srevealof the firstAndroid 11beta. Now, a leaker suggests that the launch of Google’s mid-range phone has been pushed back even further.

According to tipsterJon Prosser, the Google Pixel 4a launch is now set for July 13. That’s more than a month after the company is set to release the Android 11 public beta on June 3.

Prosser claims that the original launch for the phone was actually planned for May, then got pushed to June, and now finally to July.

He also confirms that the Pixel 4a is not a 5G phone, which was expected since it’srumoredto get the 4G-capableSnapdragon 730processor.

Adding to his leak, Prosser says that the phone will come in two colorways: Just Black and Barely Blue. The leaker also didn’t find any evidence to suggest a bigger Pixel 4a XL model.

Lastly, Prosser points out that Google is ready to ship the Pixel 4a, but is just waiting for the right time to do so. The company is probably hoping that by July, lockdown restrictions would have eased and the general sentiment would improve towards buying new smartphones.

That’s all we have on the Pixel 4a launch date for now. Check out the links below for more information about the phone.
