Got money to burn? Porsche Design HUAWEI Mate 30 RS announced

HUAWEI is continuing its on-going tradition of releasing Porsche Design branded phones. Today, at the Mate 30 seriesglobal launch eventin Munich, the Chinese manufacturer announced the Porsche Design HUAWEI Mate 30 RS.
It is the fifth Porsche phone from HUAWEI. It sports a sleek, luxurious design similar to that of last year’sPorsche Design HUAWEI Mate 20 RSflagship.
On the back, the Mate 30 RS features two genuine leather stripes surrounding the glass panel, which houses the cameras. It also comes in the same colors as last year — red and black, inspired by Porsche’s iconic sports cars. One design element it shares with theMate 30 Prois its edge screen, which has an 88-degree curve.

The new Porsche model sports four camera lenses, just like the Mate 30 Pro itself. Those include a 40MP Cine camera, a 40MP SuperSensing camera, an 8MP Telephoto camera, and a 3D Depth Sensing camera.
The zoom has been slightly downgraded from theP30 Pro, with 3x optical zoom and 30x digital zoom. However, the Porsche Design HUAWEI Mate 30 RS can also capture stunning low-light shots thanks to a large 40MP RYYB sensor. It also offers ultra slow-motion video capabilities.
The Mate 30 RS’ front cameras were not discussed during the event, but the device likely houses the same sensors as the Mate 30 Pro in its notch — a 3D depth sensor, an ambient light sensor, a gesture sensor, and a selfie cam.

The Mate 30 RS has premium specs to match its stylish design and cutting-edge camera. Under the hood, you will find the first 5G SoC — theKirin 990 5G, which brings significant improvements to both performance and power efficiency. Combined with12GB of RAMand 512GB of storage, you may expect unrivaled speed.
But even if you are a demanding user, the Mate 30 RS will likely meet your needs thanks to its 4,500mAh battery, as well as HUAWEI’s latest 40W SuperCharge and 27W wireless SuperCharge.
In terms of software, there are no surprises. The Mate 30 RS comes withEMUI 10, which now features a system-widedark mode.
Porsche Design HUAWEI Mate 30 RS price and availability
Luxury comes at a price! The Porsche Design HUAWEI Mate 30 RS will cost€2,095 (~$2,316) at launch in Europe. It is the same price as the higher-spec’d variant of the Porsche Design HUAWEI Mate 20 RS, which came out last year. For now, there is no official information on prices or availability for other regions.
