Update, August 22, 2025 (5:35AM ET):Xiaomirevealed a month ago that theRedmi K20 serieswould come to India “in six weeks.” Mercifully, the company has finally announced a specific launch date for the devices in the market.

The brand announced a July 17 launch date for India via Twitter, which means we’re just under two weeks away from launch.

It’s not the first time the Redmi K20 has launched outside of China, as it launched in Europe as theMi 9Tlast month. But it will mark the first time we officially see theRedmi K20 Prooutside Xiaomi’s home market.

Both phones offer a 4,000mAh battery, 20MP pop-up selfie camera, triple rear camera (48MP+13MP ultra wide+8MP telephoto), and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Otherwise, the Pro model offers aSnapdragon 855chipset, 6GB to 8GB of RAM, 64GB to 256GB of storage, and 27 watt charging. Meanwhile, the standard variant offers aSnapdragon 730processor, 6GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of storage, and 18 watt charging.

Original article, August 21, 2025 (8:36AM ET):Xiaomihas confirmed the anticipatedRedmi K20series is coming to India within the next six weeks. The company made the announcement on Twitter via itsofficial Redmi India channelearlier today, though it didn’t provide any more specific details.

The Redmi K20 series includes the standard Redmi K20 and the more powerful Redmi K20 Pro. Xiaomi launched both phones in China last week — we haveeverything you need to know about them here— but the company didn’t reveal global availability details at that time.

The six-week timeframe for India means the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro should arrive by Monday, July 15. They almost certainly won’t arrive before the end of June, but we’ll let you know when we have more concrete details.

The Redmi K20 and K20 Pro are exciting prospects from the Redmi sub-brand. The Pro variant offers flagship-like specs, including aSnapdragon 855chipset, at a sub-$400 price (based on the conversion from the Chinese launch prices). The K20 Pro starts at 2,499 yuan (~$362, ~25,000 rupees) while the regular K20 model begins at 1,999 yuan (~$289, ~20,000 rupees).

Xiaomi certainly thinks highly of the new phones: the company recently labeled the K20 “starkly superior to the latest One” in billboards posted alongside theOnePlus 7. Whether it turns out to be better than its OnePlus rival we’ll have to assess in our upcoming review.

We’ll have more on Xiaomi’s plans for the Redmi K20 India launch soon. Until then, what are your thoughts on the upcoming handsets? Do you think the K20 will best the OnePlus 7? Let me know in the comments.
