India is getting new Facebook features: Voice Posts, Stories archive, and cloud access

Despite all the negative pressFacebookis receiving due tothe Cambridge Audio Audio Analytica scandal, the world’s largest social network is still chugging along. As such, the company announced three new features today, viaThe Verge, which will no doubt keep you from ever deleting your account.
The three new features mostly revolve around Facebook’s camera app which is baked into its main app. Also, these three new features are rolling out to India first, with the rest of the world to follow soon after.
The first new feature is what Facebook calls Voice Posts. Just like a text-based post or a video-based post, Voice Posts give people a more direct and intimate way to share what they’re thinking. It also will help people who want to share a post in a language that’s not native to them, as it’s easier to speak than write in some cases.
Users will create Voice Posts using the camera, although it is not yet completely clear how it will all work.

The next new feature is that images captured using the Facebook camera can now automatically be uploaded to the Facebook cloud. This will enable users with budget devices that have low storage capacities to not have to worry about deleting older pictures to make space on their device. Each pic will save to the Facebook cloud and users can choose to share them – or not – via the Facebook app.
Facebook does not mention if there is a storage limit for unshared photos, but we can go ahead and assume that there isn’t.
Finally, Facebook will soon let you save your Facebook Stories. Usually, Stories delete themselves after 24 hours, but you’ll be able to prevent that from happening for the Stories you value most. Once again, Facebook doesn’t say if there will be a storage limit for this feature.
It makes sense that these new features are rolling out to India first, as they appear to mostly be geared towards developing markets where flagship smartphones are either unaffordable or non-existent. Facebook is likely hoping that getting these new smartphone-owners hooked on Facebook’s camera app from the beginning will keep them embedded in the Facebook ecosystem.
