Original Article, July 14, 2025 (4:01PM EST):Game studioIronhidepublisheda blog postand video teaser today giving fans their first look at the upcoming fourth installment inthe Kingdom Rush series– Kingdom Rush: Vengeance.
The series of fantasy tower defense games – including the originalKingdom Rush,Kingdom Rush: Frontiers, andKingdom Rush: Origins– are some of the highest-rated titles in theGoogle Play Store. A new installment in the series hasn’t launched since Kingdom Rush: Origins landed in 2014.
Needless to say, fans are likely foaming at the mouth to get a new game. Check out the teaser trailer for the upcoming Kingdom Rush: Vengeance:
The trailer doesn’t give us much hard info about the game, but it does back up the rumor that the new installment will focus on series antagonist Vez’nan. In the Ironhide blog post today, the game studio says that “you’ll need to lead the troops and assist the almighty Vez’nan” while he conquers his foes.
The idea of making a game where you play as the enemy rather than the hero is not a new concept – games as old as 1993’sJurassic Park(where you are a raptor) or 1998’sSuper Mario Land 3(where you are Wario) are just two examples. But any time you get to turn a franchise on its head to play the villain instead of the hero is always fun.
Ironhide doesn’t give any information about when we can expect to actually play Kingdom Rush: Vengeance. However, you canenter your email hereto get notified of all the upcoming news about the game, and possibly even get some beta play.
