June 15, 2025

LG shuttered its mobile division while its next line of smartphones was in active development. While those devices will never see a mass release to the public, LG sold limited numbers to employees. Now, a new video unboxing theLG Velvet 2 Prohas surfaced on YouTube.

Starting with the main box, it includes two cases and a cable but no charger. A secondary box does have a charger and an additional cable, but it’s unclear if LG intended to sell the phone with two boxes.

As for the phone itself, the Velvet 2 Pro’s design echoes that of its predecessor. At the rear, the most noticeable difference is the prominence of the three “waterdrop” camera humps. While only one of the originalLG Velvet‘s cameras protruded from the body, all three do on the Velvet 2 Pro. The backplate is also apparently made of glass.

At the front, the significant change is a punch-hole selfie camera instead of a notch, while the side of the Velvet 2 Pro features pressure pads in place of volume buttons with a power button up top. While there is a USB-C port and a speaker grille at the bottom of the phone, there’s no headphone jack.

Phonehub also confirms the previously leaked specs. ASnapdragon 888SoC powers the LG Velvet 2 Pro with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage. There’s also a 120Hz 6.8-inch 20:9 display, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and a 64MP Sony-made primary sensor at the rear joined by an ultra-wide and a 3x telephoto shooter. A 4,500mAh battery powers the device.
