Misfit’s Vapor smartwatch with Android Wear gets pushed back to October
July 25, 2025
Originallyunveiledduring CES 2017, theMisfitVapor represents the wearable outfit’s first foray into the world ofAndroid Wear. Unfortunately, it is a foray that has been delayed into October and will be without one key feature.
The delay represents a small move away from the original “late summer” timeframe, but at least the Vapor itself has not changed much. The smartwatch isset to featurea circular 1.39-inch AMOLED display, Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, a 44mm satin-finished stainless steel casing, and a touch-enabled bezel that lets you move through the interface without touching the display.

More significantly, the Vapor runs Android Wear 2.0, which comes with a host of new and improved features over previous features, such as Google Assistant, standalone watch apps, and customizable watch faces with complications. You can read more about Android Wear 2.0 at ourannouncement post, but suffice it to say that the Vapor looks to be a capable smartwatch.
We can debate about what led to the Vapor’s delay, such as its possible launch being too close to that of the rumored Apple Watch refresh. Then again, Fitbit is set to launch its$299 Ionic smartwatchin October, though the Vapor comes in at $199.

Unfortunately, what is not up for debate is the Vapor’s lack of GPS. This could deter those who want to just use their watch when going on long runs and does take a bit away from the Vapor’s fitness play.
Even without GPS, the Vapor does feature a low-enough price point where folks who want to dabble with smartwatches might give it a chance. We will keep you updated as we get closer to the Vapor’s launch, but are you planning on picking one up once it is available?
