Moto E5 and Moto E5 Plus stop by FCC, offers a taste of the specs sheet
June 20, 2025
We’ve known for a while now that Lenovo is preparingnew Moto E5 devices, the latest in its low-end smartphone range. Specifications have been elusive until now, as anFCC listinghas revealed a few details.
The listing shows that model number XT1924-3 packs a low-end Snapdragon 425 processor, which would most likely be the standard Moto E5 (the model number has also beenlinked to the E seriesbefore). Lenovo traditionally reserves quad-core chipsets for its E range.

Additionally, the FCC listing yields a device with the model number XT1924-4/5, which could be alarger or more capablevariant. For this variant, we’re looking at a Snapdragon 430 chipset, packing double the cores for some extra grunt.
It would mark a departure for the company, as last year’s Moto E4 and E4 Plus shared the same processor. The biggest difference concerned the battery, as the Plus model included a 5,000mAh battery compared to the E4’s 2,800mAh pack. The potential use of different chips in this year’s devices means fans would have a more interesting choice to make when deciding which phone to pick up.

Other specs weren’t revealed, butWinFuturehas publishedapparentrendersof the Moto E5 and E5 Plus this week, showing a few details that match up to earlier reports. Neither phone seems to pack a dual-camera setup, but both look set to feature rear fingerprint scanners and headphone jacks.
Could we see the devices this week? Lenovo is holdingan April 19 eventin Brazil, with the Moto G series expected to take centre stage. If the Moto E5 devices do launch this week, it would mark less than a year between releases, the E4 lineup having launched in June.
