Nougat now rolling out to Galaxy S7/Edge in India, Russia, and Germany

Samsung is hard at work spreading Nougat to untold numbers ofGalaxy S7/Edgeunits around the world. Following ahead start for beta userstwo weeks ago, the company beganupdating stable devicestoAndroid 7.0on January 17.
In India, the Galaxy S7 Nougat update is code-numbered G930FXXU1DQAZ and weighs in at around 1285MB. Meanwhile, the S7 Edge Nougat (G935FXXU1DQAZ) is slightly larger, at 1290MB. In Germany, the update is being rolled outen masseto Galaxy S7 Edge users, but there are reports of it hitting the Galaxy S7 as well.

The updates will roll out in stages, in order to spot and fix any unforeseen issues before they affect a large number of devices. Just in the last days,Sony,HTC, and ZTE all halted their Nougat rollouts due to bugs, and Samsung has hitits own roadblockswith rollouts in the past years.

Samsung bundledquite a few changes with the Nougat update for the Galaxy S7/Edge, with highlights including multiple changes to the UI (new font, new animations), a revamped settings menu, a revamped notification dropdown, blue light filter, new Device Maintenance tool, Performance mode, the ability to scale down display resolution, and improvements to the Always On Display.
The update switches the S7 and S7 Edge’s screen resolution down to Full HD (from the native Quad HD), though it’s super easy to change it back.More details here.
India, Russia and Germany are joining UK, France, China and other large markets where the Nougat update is already available for S7 and S7 Edge users. Expect to see more regions to follow over the next weeks.
