Owning your own business is tough, as there are a lot of hard decisions which must be made and a lot of work that must be done to keep the lights on. With that in mind, it’s inevitable that some business owners will look for shortcuts to take some pressure off their shoulders.

Unfortunately, it appearsone Toronto roofing companywent a bit too far with a certain shortcut, as it appears to have completely co-opted the famousOnePlusname and logo as its own.

The OnePlus logo.

OnePlus Roofing is based in Markham, a suburb of Toronto, according to its listing onHomestars.com(not to be confused withHomestarRunner.com). According to the most recent review of OnePlus Roofing on Homestars — which went live two months ago — the company worked very quickly to fix a leak in the customer’s bedroom, which earned it a ten-out-of-ten rating.

However, it doesn’t appear that OnePlus Roofing is going to earn a ten-out-of-ten rating on the creation of its logo, at least not according to a trademark attorney:

OnePlus 6T back

As anyone who follows the smartphone industry will attest, the OnePlus Roofing logo is very similar to the logo of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus:

Android Authoritycontacted OnePlus Roofing to get a statement on the matter. The owner of the business claimed that his company name and logo are registered in Canada and that he created the name and logo himself. When we explained what OnePlus (the smartphone company) was, he claimed to have no knowledge of its existence.

A sign promoting OnePlus Roofing, a company in Toronto that has co-opted the OnePlus logo as its own.

We asked for a statement for this article, but the owner declined.

For now, it appears we have two OnePlus companies in the world. TwoPlus?
