OnePlus teases a nifty timeline-inspired always-on display design
July 16, 2025
Back in March, OnePlus said it would finally add an always-on display feature to Oxygen OS. In recent weeks, the company has beenteasing potential designs, and we just got a look at another new one. In a post on Chinese social media platformWeibofirst spotted bySparrow News, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau shared a video detailing a partnership the company established with the Parsons School of Design in New York.
Check out the video below.
OnePlus always-on display design video
Featured throughout the video is an always-on display design called “Time.” With help from the OnePlus UI team, Parsons student Julie Zhu created the interface. The design features a digital clock that moves across the display as the day progresses. Each time you use your OnePlus phone, it marks the interaction on the timeline.
you may also see how many times you’ve unlocked your device and how much battery you have left at the top and bottom of the screen. It’s a smart way to make part of Android’sDigital Wellbeingfunctionality glanceable.

Keep in mind the Time interface is likely one of several always-on display options OnePlus will ship with Oxygen OS 11. In July, Lau shared ananalog clock design, for example.
OnePlus owners likely won’t need to wait long to get this design and others on their devices. In a recentcommunity forum post, Lau said the company plans to release the final developer preview of Oxygen OS 11, which includes the always-on display feature, onAugust 10.
“… once we’ve squashed most of the big bugs and improved overall stability, we’ll release a full open beta to let even more of you try it out,” Lau added. If you’re brave enough, you can trymoddingthe feature onto your OnePlus device. But for most people, it’s best to wait.
