POCO F2 could launch globally as soon as next month

June 03, 2025

ThePOCO F2has remained a mystery ever since thePOCO X2launched back in February. Now, a new leak once again suggests that the phone will hit global markets in May as a rebranded version of theRedmi K30 Pro.

The leak comes fromXiaomishka, a popular Xiaomi tipster on Twitter. They mention that the POCO F2 will enter global markets in May with model number M2004J11.

Meanwhile, India is said to get a new POCO device with model number M2003J6CI. It’s rumored to have features in common with theRedmi Note 9 series.

The curious case of POCO F2

When POCO launched the X2 in India, the brand didn’t have any global ambitions. At the time, POCO hadtoldAndroid Authoritythat it’s a small startup and that it’ll restrict itself to launching phones only in India.

This led tospeculationthat the F2, whenever it launches in India, could be a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro. After all, POCO didn’t change a single hardware spec when it launched the 4G version of the K30 in India as the X2.

However, in March, POCO reportedlyconfirmedthat the F2 won’t be the same phone as the Redmi K30 Pro.

While the new leak claims otherwise, it clearly states that this rebranding is limited to the global version of the F2. This could mean that India won’t get the phone in question and instead see some other POCO device launch in the country.

Interestingly, the leak mentions that the POCO F2 won’t be 5G enabled. We know that the Redmi K30 Pro comes with the Snapdragon 865 and 5G connectivity so if the F2 is indeed the same phone, it should ideally get the same capabilities.

It’s possible that POCO will just disable 5G on the Snapdragon 865 by not adding the required antenna components. The brand had previously told us that it doesn’t make sense to launch 5G phones when the required infrastructure is not up to the mark.

For now, there’s just no way we can confirm what POCO has in store for the F2. All kinds of rumors are going around with no solid evidence to confirm any of them. All we know is thatyou shouldn’t expecta price point under $300 since Qualcomm’s latest processordoesn’t come cheap.
