Samsung Galaxy A Quantum 2 images leak: The Galaxy A82 in Korea

It seems like Samsung is getting ready to launch theGalaxy A82soon, as the phone’s specs were revealed on the Google Play Console earlier this month. We got a fleeting look at the front of the device in this listing, but it looks like several more images have leaked showing what could be the Korean variant.
The images were spotted by tipsterFrontTronon Twitter and seem to either originate from Korea’sNaverblog platform or Weibo leakerWhyLab. Nevertheless, the first thing we can glean from these images is that the phone might be called the Galaxy A Quantum 2 in Korea. But it stands to reason that it’ll be the Galaxy A82 elsewhere, with the quoted model number SM-A826 also lining up with the A82 moniker. Check the pictures out below.
We see a center-mounted punch-hole cutout once again, which seems to confirm theGalaxy A80‘s flipping camera mechanism won’t make an appearance here. This is a downer, but flipping and pop-up housings don’t play well withwater resistantdesigns. And as we’ve seen with theGalaxy A52andA72series, Samsung is bringing IP ratings to its mid-range devices.
We also get a look at the back of the phone, confirming a triple rear camera setup. Aprevious rumorpointed to a 64MP primary camera, and the machine-translated Naver post indeed mentions a 64MP shooter too. We’re guessing the other two sensors are of the ultra-wide and telephoto varieties.

One of the pictures also shows 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the Naver post itself mentions a Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset and a 4,500mAh battery as well. Finally, the post notes that the phone will launch in Korea on April 23, which could conceivably be the global A82 launch date as well.
For what it’s worth, the originalGalaxy A Quantumreleased last year was based on the Galaxy A71 and offered a quantum security (or QRNG) chip for security purposes. Expect Samsung to ditch this chip when the Galaxy A82 is launched.
