Sony reveals latest Android Pie update schedule: is your phone on the list?

Sony hasrevealedits schedule for the Android Pie update rollout and some of its devices will receive the new software ahead of its original schedule.
Back in August, Sonyannouncedthat six Xperia XZ devices would get the Android Pie update in November, while three Xperia XA devices would get it in early 2019. However, just last week, theXperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compactbegan to receive their update early.
Sony says theXZ Premium,XZ1, andXZ1 Compactwill also get the update sooner than expected. The rollout for these phones will begin on October 26.
The other Sony phones receiving Pie will do so as per the original schedule. Sony will begin to rollout the update for theXZ2 Premiumfrom November 7, while the Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra, and XA2 Plus will get the update from March 4 next year. While this is much later than the other phones, March just about qualifies as early 2019 (and at least Sony has provided a date, which is more than many Android OEMs have managed).
Of course, owners of the above phone’s won’t necessarily get the update on the day stated. As Sony points out in its blog post, software rollouts are a phased process and when you actually receive the update will depend on a number of factors including where you are located and your carrier.
Still, if you own one of the Sony phones set to receive the update, it must be nice to have a ballpark date for when you will receive the latest version of Android, right?
