The Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e comes with Android 9 Pie and costs $400

July 30, 2025

Today, Samsung announced a new tablet: theSamsung Galaxy Tab S5e. The Android tablet will hit the Samsung online store and various major retailers sometime in the second quarter of this year for a relatively cheap price of $400.

Back in August, Samsung launched theSamsung Galaxy Tab S4, it’s most high-end offering in the tablet market. That device was sold as a sort of laptop replacement, with an optional Bluetooth keyboard cover and a heavy emphasis on playing games, particularlyFortnite. However, the price of the tablet alone is $650, and the keyboard sleeve adds another $150 to that. Ouch.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e appears to take the ultra-slim design aesthetic of the Tab S4 but cut some corners to keep the price down. The lowercase “e” in the name of the tablet is the same that will appear on the upcomingSamsung Galaxy S10e, which is the cheaper, entry-level model. Therefore, we can expectSamsungto eventually release a Samsung Galaxy Tab S5 that will be a true follow up to last year’s Tab S4.

However, for $400 this tablet seems to be pretty capable on its own. It even supports a keyboard sleeve for anyone who needs one.
