Verizon CEO confirms it will offer Galaxy Note with 5G later this year

July 02, 2025

Samsunghas already launched itsGalaxy S10 5Gin South Korea, marking a major step in the transition to next-generation connectivity. It’s not stopping there either, as Verizon revealed that the next Galaxy Note (likely called theGalaxy Note 10) will offer5Gconnectivity too.

“Many of the phones, as already I’ve talked about, meaning the Samsung phone, both the Note and the Galaxy coming this year, we’ll both have it 5G (sic),” Verizon CEO and chairman Hans Vestberg said during aQ1 2019 earningscall (h/t:Motley Fool).

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will have at least one major upgrade over the Note 9.

We already knew Verizon would range the Galaxy S10 5G as a timed exclusive, but the quote certainly conveys the carrier’s intention to field a 5G-capable Galaxy Note 10 too.

Samsung’s Note series usually offers the same chipset as the Galaxy flagship launched earlier in the year, so we can reasonably expect aSnapdragon 855andExynos 9820in the 2019 model. But the Galaxy S10 5G also tossed in a few extra features compared to the standard model, such as a bigger battery, faster charging, and3D ToF camerason the front and back. It seems like many 5G phones are offering a larger battery to account for the power-hungry nature of early 5G technology, so hopefully Samsung’s device follows the same path.

The Korean manufacturer won’t be the only major brand launching a 5G phone in the second half of the year either, as HUAWEI has a 5G-capableMate X, for one. Which 5G flagship would you choose though? Let us know in the comments! Don’t fancy a 5G flagship? Then you may always check out the standardGalaxy S10 seriesat the link.
