Verizon, Sprint, and Samsung are shipping the Galaxy Note 8 early
July 24, 2025
In an industry with all-too much waiting around — I’m looking at you, Android updates — news of something happeningbeforeexpected is always good to hear. Over the weekend, we encountered several stories regardingGalaxy Note 8shipments, the earliest claiming that Verizon and Sprint had begunshipping devices. Now, it appears that Samsung is doing the same.
Galaxy Note 8 pre-order customers have taken toRedditto announce the news, reporting that Samsung.com has changed their order status to “Shipped.” This means that the handset could arrive this week, a number of days ahead of the previously stated September 15 release date; the smartphone was announced just over a week ago on August 25.

It’s not all that uncommon for third-party sellers or carriers to ship devices slightly earlier than expected: we heard similar reports regarding the Galaxy S8in April. For the manufacturer itself to take this course of action is less common — perhaps Samsung is still trying to make up forGalaxy Note 7 problemslast year? And, hey, if the units are just sitting in a warehouse waiting, why not?
Meanwhile, Andy Rubin’s Essential Phone is at the other end of the scale: even days after the company announced shipping had started, customers have still beenleaving messagesto ask where their order information is.
