August 07, 2025
When it comes to using a phone, there’s nothing worse than your device running out of battery when you need it most. For years, manufacturers have offeredbattery saving modeson their phones to avoid that exact moment. But just how often do you need such a feature when 4,500mAh batteries have become commonplace on phones such as theOnePlus 8TandSamsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra? With that in mind, we wanted to find out just how many of you use the battery saving feature on your phone.
Do you ever use your phone’s battery saver mode?
We published the poll onDecember 1, and more than 2,000 of you voted. Surprisingly, 33.8% of you said you never use the battery saver mode on your phone. There are likely a couple of things at play here. To start, as much as some of us like to complain about how big phones have gotten in recent years, the plus side has been that most modern devices come with much bigger batteries than their predecessors. The pandemic has also likely played a part, with some people using their phones less than they did when going outside was the norm.

When you combine those results together, more Android Authority readers take advantage of the battery saving mode on their phone than not.
